About The Artist Enclave

Courtney Bankhead’s inspiration to represent multiple artists through an online platform came after brokering art for well-known Utah artist, Karl Thomas, for 17 years. She realized that of all the industries she had worked with, selling fine art was her passion and forte. With a BFA in Graphic Design, as well as marketing and interior design experience, Courtney has a real world understanding of the obstacles and needs of both true artists, designers, and clients. Fine Art is being sold online more than ever before and traditional artists struggle to keep up. She created The Artist Enclave to 1. Help a hand selected group of artists sell more work online and in person, 2. Create a space for artists and collectors to create meaningful purchase experiences, through online shows, as well as physical shows and retreats. 3. To bring artists work to the commercial design space by working with office and hotel designers, allowing artist to benefit multiple times from each work of art.

Adding to the Team

As an amateur artist himself, Brian Wimmer has always surrounded himself with beauty. Growing up in the shadows of Mount Timpanogos in Utah, Brian worked directly with Robert Redford as a ranch hand and then later in L.A. in the movie industry. For the last ten years Brian has worked as a creative director and fly fishing guide for Sundance Resort. His home is filled with art, photography and sculpture from around the globe. As curator and event planner, Brian’s relationship with artists and collectors across the globe gives The Artist Enclave a unique flavor.

Karl Thomas Featured in Southwest Art February 2019 Issue

“From Zion National Park to the Wasatch Range, Utah is home to a slew of desert sanctuaries, forests, lakes, and mountain peaks. Naturally, the Salt Lake State is a popular haven for nature lovers and outdoor adventures alike. Many of Utah’s visitors are less familiar, however, with this wonderland’s vibrant fine-art culture. In fact, many painters and sculptors live and work throughout the state, and they portray a variety of subject matter that includes but is not limited to their homeland’s rugged beauty.”
